A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF NOMINATIVE UNITS IN "MAX AND THE MILLIONS" AND "COUNTRY IN MY GRANDFATHER'S STOMACH"
Authors/Creators
Description
This article offers a comparative analysis of nominative units (anthroponyms, toponyms, and names of objects and events) in British author Ross Montgomery’s Max and the Millions (2018) and Uzbek author Qobiljon Shermatov’s Country in My Grandfather’s Stomach (Buvamning oshqozonidagi mamlakat, 2023). The two works share a close genre and plot affinity — in both, a boy unexpectedly shrinks and encounters a miniature world — which creates favorable ground for comparing their naming strategies.
