Harmonizing Multi-Country Payroll Operations Through Unified Cloud HCM Integration Models

Description

Managing payroll in multiple countries is becoming increasingly complex.Payroll administration is becoming more complex in multiple countries. There are different tax rules, currencies, labour laws, payroll calendar and compliance requirements within each jurisdiction. Typical payroll systems involve manual data entry and fragmented country-specific systems, which can cause delays in processing, data duplication, compliance issues, and inconsistent payroll reporting. In order to overcome the above limitations, this study suggests Unified Cloud HCM Payroll Integration Model (UCHPIM). The unified model aims to harmonize multi-country payroll operations, by using a centralized cloud-based Human Capital Management (HCM) architecture. The proposed model includes integration through standardized APIs and an integration layer between the employee master data, payroll processing, compliance rules, third party payroll providers and reporting services. For assessing the efficiency in processing, data accuracy, synchronization time and compliance exceptions, the simulated multi country payroll dataset of five countries was used. The proposed model resulted in a 42.6% reduction in the average payroll processing time, 98.7% accuracy rate for payroll data, 56.3% reduction in the time required for data synchronization and a payroll related exceptions reduction of 38.5% compared to the traditional fragmented model. Operational consistency, data visibility/scalability and country specific payroll requirements are achieved with the results. Integrated cloud HCM has been proven to be a sound architectural solution to organizations that are seeking to globalize and modernize payroll practices.
