Description

Presentation slides from the Diamond OA Policy Forum Africa, held online on 17 September 2026 as part of the ALMASI project.

The event focused on funding Diamond Open Access (OA) publishing in Africa. It showcased strategic funding approaches adopted by research funders and universities across the region, alongside initiatives and models that facilitate funding for Diamond OA.

The event was part of a series of regional and cross-regional meetings organised by ALMASI to bring together policymakers, funders and open access experts from Africa, Europe and Latin America. The Forum aims to support the development of policies and sustainable funding mechanisms for more equitable, diverse and community-led scholarly publishing.
