Authors/Creators
Description
The Global Pet Obesity Initiative Position Statement calls on the veterinary profession to adopt a uniform definition of obesity in dogs and cats as body weight 30% or more above ideal weight, to adopt a universal whole-integer 1-to-9 body condition score, and to formally recognize canine and feline obesity as a disease. The statement is supported by 24 veterinary healthcare professional organizations worldwide.
