Guia metodológico para a implantação de programa de internacionalização em cursos de Pós-Graduação Stricto Sensu

This "Methodological Guide for the Implementation of an Internationalization Program in Stricto Sensu Graduate Programs", developed by the Graduate Program in Local Development (PPGDL/UNISUAM), presents a systematic approach to guide the development and strengthening of internationalization in graduate education. The Guide begins with the assessment of faculty competencies, previous international experiences, existing institutional partnerships, thematic convergence, and cooperation potential. These inputs are organized through a systematic process of data analysis and interpretation aimed at identifying opportunities, priorities, and strategic directions. The methodology seeks to move beyond an approach to internationalization based exclusively on isolated initiatives, proposing instead a planned, integrated, and progressive process aligned with the academic characteristics and mission of each Graduate Program.

As an outcome, the Guide provides a framework for developing an Internationalization Plan encompassing objectives, priorities, actions, responsibilities, timelines, and monitoring indicators. The proposed strategies include institutional cooperation, cotutelle arrangements, faculty and student mobility, curriculum internationalization, language learning, academic credit flexibility, and alignment with graduate education policies and guidelines. The methodology also establishes connections between the thematic areas of Graduate Programs and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, strengthening the integration of internationalization, knowledge production, and territorial development. Thus, the Guide constitutes a methodological tool to support gradual, sustainable, collaborative, and results-oriented internationalization, contributing to academic quality, institutional networking, and positive impacts on society and territories.
