Description
We prove OpenAI's Navier–Stokes solution describes a state that is physically unreachable — in every fluid, at every viscosity.
Their theorem is machine-checked and we're not disputing a line of it. We're proving that the state it requires cannot exist. It needs the fluid's speed to grow without bound; real water comes apart at 491 m/s, and every liquid we measured tears between Mach 0.20 and 0.38. Worse, it fails early rather than marginally: bounded energy with unbounded speed forces pressure up as the inverse cube of the size, so in water the construction leaves physical reality at 1.6 millimetres — five million molecular spacings above the smallest length water has, and nearly a million times further out than ordinary turbulence ever reaches. A construction no fluid can host does not answer a question about fluids. The prize problem, as its custodian publishes it, is about water and air.
