AUTOASSESS OPEN CALL #1 Open Call for Tech Solutions: Success Stories

The objective of the AUTOASSESS Open Call #1 for Tech Solutions was to invite startups and SMEs to present their technology solutions aligned with one of five defined challenges. The three-stage six-month programme offered five projects with up to
€100,000 in funding.

The open call launched on 25 February 2025 and closed on 24 April 2025. A total of 54 applications were submitted to the open call, with an average of 11 applications per challenge. Of the 54 applications, 41 were submitted by startups and 13 by SMEs. Applications were received from 27 different countries. Spain was the most participative country with seven submissions, followed by Italy with six submissions, and Greece with five submissions.

The Open Call #1 Programme launched on 1 October 2025 with the five awarded third parties. During the six-month programme, the sub-grantees worked alongside their respective mentors (ScoutDI, University of Twente, and University of Zurich), which supported them in the implementation of their project and delivery of the expected results aligned with the selected challenge. The five projects successfully ended their projects on 31 March 2025, having contributed with solutions aligned with the AUTOASSESS vision of deploying systems to support vessel inspections.
