MATLAB Code for Reliability-Oriented Power System Planning in China
Description
This repository contains the MATLAB source code for the models developed in the study of reliability-oriented power system planning and assessment in China. The code includes three main components: (1) the Reliability-oriented Integrated Planning and Operation Model (RIPOM), which jointly optimizes generation, storage, transmission and demand-side resources while considering reliability requirements; (2) the Reliability Assessment Dispatch Model (RADM), which evaluates the operational reliability of planned power systems under chronological hourly conditions; and (3) the Unit-level Retirement Model (ULRM), which represents the retirement and lifetime dynamics of existing thermal power units.
The models are developed for provincial-level power system analysis in China and are implemented in MATLAB. RIPOM is formulated and solved using YALMIP and Gurobi. The repository includes the main model scripts, supporting functions and configuration files required to reproduce the analyses reported in the associated study.
The code is provided for research and reproducibility purposes. Users should refer to the associated paper for detailed descriptions of the model formulation, assumptions, input data and scenario definitions.
