COMPARATIVE EXPERIMENTAL EVALUATION OF TRADITIONAL AND IMPROVED NOISE MEASUREMENT METHODS IN A SMALL INDUSTRIAL ZONE
Authors/Creators
Description
The paper presents a comparative experimental evaluation of the traditional
(continuous stationary) and the improved (time-distributed) methods of noise level
measurement in a small industrial zone. The study was carried out in the Yakkasaray small
industrial zone of Tashkent on a regular 50-metre measurement grid, with both methods
applied in parallel at identical points. The mean difference between the methods amounted
to 1.26 dB for the A-weighted equivalent level and 1.04 dB for the C-weighted level,
remaining within the technical accuracy limit of ±1.5 dB specified by IEC 61672. The
improved method increased the efficiency of noise source detection within a 50-metre radius
by 63.6 per cent and reduced labour costs twentyfold. On this basis the method is
recommended for acoustic monitoring practice.
