Description
Replication package for the paper "Rectified Estimators Cannot Return Zero: Non-Identification in Trade-Misinvoicing and Revenue-Risk Measurement".
Contains 40 Python scripts, the cached UN Comtrade responses the analysis runs on, 38 JSON result files and three figures, with a SHA-256 manifest over all 98 files.
The package reproduces every number in the paper: the panel of 5,410 matched bilateral mirror pairs covering 30 developing and 24 advanced economies over 2015 to 2022; the closed-form floor of the rectified estimator and its Monte Carlo verification; the size-stratified permutation null at 40,000 permutations per country-year, its measured size, and its detection probability across a ten-cell power grid at 240 seeds per cell; the commodity-resolution ladder; the concentration and persistence of the estimate across bilateral cells; and the freight wedge measured directly from reporters that publish CIF and FOB values separately for the same flow.
Every script runs from the package root with no arguments. results/INDEX.md maps each result file to the script that produces it. README.md documents the layout, the run order and the expected runtimes. No licensed or restricted data is used. The creator is recorded as Anonymous for the duration of double-anonymous peer review.
