From crisis to persistence: analyzing electricity price volatility in Slovenia during the COVID-19, Russia-Ukraine war, and renewable energy integration

  • 1. Jožef Stefan Institute

Description

This publication supports the RESONANCE project by showing how increasing renewable-energy integration can contribute to more persistent and state-dependent electricity price volatility. The findings highlight the need for greater system flexibility through demand-side response, energy storage, and improved balancing strategies, supporting better forecasting, market-risk assessment, and energy-management decisions in flexible and integrated energy systems.
