Healing trust: A practical guide to infodemics and health misinformation management in Albania

This practical guide addresses one of the growing public health challenges of the digital age: the spread of health misinformation and disinformation and its impact on public trust and health-related decision-making.

The publication provides practical knowledge and tools for public health professionals, journalists and communication professionals, researchers and policymakers, helping them better understand, monitor and respond to the infodemic and health misinformation.

The guide combines scientific evidence and international standards with research on the Albanian context and insights gathered through six working sessions bringing together journalists, communication and public health professionals, and citizens. It presents practical concepts, approaches and tools to promote trustworthy health communication, evidence-based journalism and media literacy.

The publication was developed by the SECID (the Southeast European Center for Surveillance and Control of Infectious Diseases) Foundation in cooperation with the Albanian Audiovisual Media Authority (AMA), as part of the “Health in Focus: Media Literacy for Health Misinformation/Disinformation and Infodemic Management” project, with financial support from AMA.
