This is an abstract of my research presented in the Monash Linguistics and Applied Linguistics Seminar Series, Monash University, Australia, and the Linguistics and Applied Linguistics Seminar Series in the School of Languages and Linguistics, University of Melbourne, Australia. The presentation is part of my academic visit in the School of Languages and Linguistics, University of Melbourne, Australia as part of the Faculty of Arts Indonesia Initiative visiting scholar program in the Faculty of Arts, University of Melbourne.

The presentation is a lexical-typological study of the polysemy of Balinese's ACQUIRE/GET verbs, including the grammaticalisation of the verbs in comparison with data from Southeast Asian languages.
