Description
This repository provides the model code and input data supporting the study:
“Long-Term Energy Transition under the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism: Implications for Cross-Border Electricity Trade and System Transformation.”
The archive contains the updated Python implementation of the H2RES model used to analyse the interconnected electricity systems of Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia from 2026 to 2040. It includes scripts for preparing inputs, configuring and running the carbon-policy scenarios, and processing model outputs.
The accompanying input files contain generation-technology and flexibility-technology data, hourly renewable-generation and demand profiles, interconnection assumptions, renewable-capacity constraints, carbon-price trajectories, CBAM policy parameters and other data required to run the model.
Running the model requires a compatible Python environment, the Gurobi Optimizer and a valid Gurobi licence. Additional Python packages may be required depending on the scripts and analyses being executed.
Large model-output files and derived results are not included because of their size. The principal results are reported in the associated publication.
This archive is intended to support transparency, reproducibility and reuse of the modelling framework and input dataset. Users should cite both the associated publication and this Zenodo record when using the deposited code or data.
