Description

Özet: Kuşaklar sosyolojisi bağlamında her kuşak içinde yaşadığı çağın bir ürünüdür. Sosyal tarih sürecinde kuşaklar şu şekilde sınıflandırılmaktadır: (1) Sessiz kuşak (The Silent Generation), 1922-1945 arası doğanlar. (2) Bebek patlaması kuşağı (The Baby Boomers), 1946-1964 arası doğanlar.

Abstract: In the context of generational sociology, each generation is a product of the age in which it lives. In the process of social history, generations are classified as follows: (1) The Silent Generation, those born between 1922-1945. (2) The Baby Boomers, those born between 1946 and 1964. (3) Generation X, those born between 1965-1980. (4) Generation Y (Millennials), those born between 1981-2000. (5) Generation Z, born between 2001-2020. (6) Alpha generation are those born between 2021-2040. Generation Y, Z and Alpha are called "digital natives" because they were born into the internet. The influence of the internet and social media is seen in all areas of life. It is possible to see young people with similar cultural patterns all over the world. Global young people who dress the same way, eat and talk the same way. The communication tools that create this similarity are the internet and social media. Social media is a platform where everyone expresses their own culture and identity, as well as similarities. Generation Z is a generation that is more sensitive to different cultures, animal rights and environmental problems. Understanding the psychology and sociology of Generation Z is important in terms of knowing the generation that will become adults in the future. Generation Z may be asocial and introverted at a high rate because they are constantly in the digital environment. Levels of selfishness and narcissism are higher. While on the one hand, the rate of selfishness is high, on the other hand, they attach importance to family values.

In this paper, after describing the generations in the social history process, the sociology of Generation Z will be examined.
