FROM THE HISTORY OF ECONOMIC AND DEMOGRAPHIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE FAR EAST: FROM THE FIRST EXPLORERS TO MODERN PROJECTS

The article examines the development of the Far Eastern region, which has been identified as a strategic task on a national scale for the entire XXI-st century. Currently, the necessary prerequisites for launching new industrial facilities and increasing investment attractiveness are being actively formed here. Within the framework of the territories of advanced economic growth and the free port regime, Vladivostok is increasing the number of initiatives covering such areas as shipbuilding, transport and logistics chains, fish processing, the operation of seaports, the agricultural sector, as well as tourism and leisure.
