Transformational Laboratories Protocol: From Civilizational Healing Theory to Bounded, Life-Grounded Praxis, with Living Coordination as the Necessary Affective-Relational Substrate

Transformational Laboratories Protocol v1.0 provides the pre-implementation constitutional, governance, inquiry and learning architecture for moving Civilizational Healing from theory to bounded, life-grounded praxis. It defines a Transformational Laboratory as a bounded, governed, real-world inquiry in which affected communities, responsible institutions, practitioners and researchers jointly test whether a specified change can reduce organized life-disconnection, strengthen life-capacities and improve collective learning without reproducing domination or displacing severe avoidable burdens.

The setting and its institutional relationships—not people or communities—constitute the laboratory. The protocol does not authorize experimentation upon populations or displace applicable law, research ethics, professional duties, Indigenous rights, environmental review or democratic authorization.

The protocol introduces living coordination as the necessary affective-relational substrate of Civilizational Healing: the recurrent, embodied and power-aware capacity to preserve dignity and standing, create sufficient safety for truthful conflict, demonstrate trustworthiness, coordinate care and action across difference, and revise coordination in light of consequences. Living coordination is necessary but not sufficient and is specified as a readiness condition, possible mechanism and outcome open to empirical testing.

The protocol establishes qualification gates and automatic exclusions; affected-community authority; differentiated governance; protective margins; refusal, exit and remedy rights; independent safeguards review; data and AI governance that keeps AI assistive and non-sovereign; a seven-phase operating cycle; mixed-method evaluation across time, scale and perspective; explicit success, failure and falsification conditions; six research work packages; and fifteen site-specific registers and templates. It is offered as a corrigible common instrument for prospective, site-specific use.

Status: Architecture for testing. No active Transformational Laboratory or empirical validation is claimed. No intervention may proceed under this generic protocol alone; every proposed Laboratory requires a site-specific Charter and addendum.
