Report on job shadowing and training of research managers

The present deliverable 3.2 “Report on job shadowing and training of research managers” reports the activities carried out within task 3.2 “Upskilling research managers” of the RIS4SEB project. The objective of the task was to strengthen the professional competences of research managers in the widening institutions and to enhance their capacity to support researchers throughout the research and innovation lifecycle, from strategic positioning and proposal development to project implementation, dissemination, knowledge transfer and exploitation.

The report includes a brief description of two types of activities carried out from M1 to M27:

•Hybrid workshops for research managers organized by UB as a non-widening partner of the project,
•Job-shadowing activities carried out on-site at the premises of UB and KTU.

The plan for the workshops and job-shadowing activities has been co-designed by Università Bocconi (UB) and Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) with Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE) and Estonian Business School (EBS), taking into account the needs identified through the Internationalisation Strategy activities in WP2 and the Human Resources and Research Management Strategy activities in WP3.
The content was tailored to the needs of research managers in the widening institutions and reflected challenges identified during the strategic development activities carried out within RIS4SEB. Through a combination of workshops and practical learning experiences, the programme aimed to strengthen institutional research support capacities and facilitate the transfer of good practices among consortium partners.
