EVALUATION DES RISQUES HYDROLOGIQUES ET HYDROGEOLOGIQUES PAR ANALYSE MULTICRITERE SIG : CAS DU PROJET DE CENTRALE SOLAIRE PHOTOVOLTAIQUE DE 30 MWC DE NIGOUNI (NORD DE LA COTE D IVOIRE)
Description
The development of renewable energies in Cote dIvoire, particularly solar photovoltaics, requires prior hydrological studies to ensure the viability and safety of infrastructures. This study was conducted at the Nigouni site, in the Tengrela department in northern Cote dIvoire, as part of the project to build a 30 MWp solar photovoltaic power plant initiated by CI-ENERGIES. The main objectives were to identify flood-prone areas, estimate flood flows and levels, and identify adequate water sources for the project. The methodology is based on the analysis of rainfall data (2011-2025), thematic mapping using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), geological and pedological site analysis, and field hydrogeological investigations. Results show that the Nigouni site, under a Sudanese climate with a mean annual rainfall of 1418.28 mm, presents a low to moderate flood risk, as runoff is naturally drained toward the Tengrela dam. From a hydrogeological perspective, Proterozoic granite formations exhibit low hydraulic conductivities, but underlying fractures represent potentially exploitable aquifers. These results provide an essential technical basis for the safe design and implementation of the solar power plant.
