Authors/Creators
Description
This final report presents the implementation, outputs and scientific results of the project Information Flows and Zones of Resistance: Translation in Slovak Cultural and Literary Periodicals since the 1990s, implemented at Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra from September 2024 to August 2026. The project examined translation in four Slovak periodicals: Aspekt (1993–2004), Revue svetovej literatúry (1995–2015), Kapitál (2017–2024) and Verzia (2020–2024).
The research combined expert-curated bibliographic data with quantitative analysis, interviews, historical research, close reading, Social Network Analysis and Actor-Network Theory. It produced open bibliographic and relational datasets, a searchable bibliographic database and discovery tool, peer-reviewed publications, international conference presentations and further research infrastructure. The report documents completion of the project objectives and contractual deliverables and summarises the principal findings concerning linguistic diversity, editorial curation, distributed agency, feminist knowledge production, professional networks and the role of publicly supported periodicals as infrastructures of cultural mediation.
The report also documents the project’s open-science outputs, methodological development, international scholarly engagement, sustainability measures and follow-on research. The project website is available at https://ifzr.ff.ukf.sk/ and the searchable bibliographic database at https://ifzr.ff.ukf.sk/discovery.
The project was supported by EU – NextGenerationEU through the Recovery and Resilience Plan for Slovakia, project No. 09I03-03-V04-00667.
