Introduction to Transformative Game Design is the first (1) of four (4) courses in the Master's of Transformative Game Design (60 cr.) at Uppsala University. The course introduces the main concepts that the rest of the first-year curriclum will explore related to transformative leisure, therapeuric, and educational analog role-playing game design.
The programme is designed for lifelong learners from helping professions who wish to integrate role-playing games in their work with their specific target groups. The course runs 50% time for 10 weeks, i.e., 20 hours per week.
These courses were originally developed at the Department of Game Design, then revised with feedback and contributions from the Erasmus+ EDGE Consortium, a Cooperation Partnership in Higher Education that includes Uppsala University, Turku University of Applied Sciences, Dragons' Nest, Chaos League, and Avalon Larp Studio.
