When Food Needs Become Land Claims: A Reproducibility Audit of Agricultural Land-Demand Calculations in Tanzania's Village Land-Use Plans

This dataset supports the manuscript “When Food Needs Become Land Claims: A Reproducibility Audit of Agricultural Land-Demand Calculations in Tanzania’s Village Land-Use Plans.”

The dataset contains a frozen source-audited corpus of 25 Tanzanian Village Land Use Plans (VLUPs) and the derived analytical materials used to assess the reproducibility and logical integrity of agricultural land-demand calculations. It includes food-demand assumptions, crop-yield assumptions, model-family classifications, source-reported or source-equivalent agricultural land requirements, independent recomputations, numerical discrepancies, denominator-integrity assessments, model-ambiguity classifications, threshold-robustness tests, and sensitivity-analysis inputs.

Twenty-three cases contain directly comparable source and independently recomputed land-demand values. Two additional cases are retained for model-architecture and logical-integrity analysis. The corpus is source-selected and should not be interpreted as a probability sample of all approved VLUPs in Tanzania.

The repository package also includes case-level provenance, audit decision rules, model-family coding, category-overlap documentation, and the reviewer-reconciled analytical workbook used to reproduce the manuscript’s headline statistics.

Underlying original VLUP reports are not redistributed in this deposit because access and redistribution remain subject to applicable institutional and source permissions. The deposited materials therefore focus on derived analytical data, reconstruction logic, classifications, and reproducibility documentation.
