Description

Abstract

Socio-emotional development and school climate are relevant dimensions of educational quality, as they influence interpersonal relationships, student participation, teaching practices, and learning conditions. This article aimed to analyze the relationship between socio-emotional development, school climate, and the well-being of teachers and students, highlighting strategies capable of promoting a safer, more organized, and healthier educational environment. This is a bibliographic study based on the analysis of scientific publications and documents related to socio-emotional development, school relationships, and the promotion of well-being in educational settings. The results indicate that competencies such as self-regulation, communication, empathy, cooperation, and decision-making can contribute to coping with conflicts and promoting more balanced relationships. The findings also indicate that school climate is influenced by the quality of relationships, safety, institutional organization, clarity of rules, and support provided to educational professionals. Preventive strategies, continuing professional development, monitoring of relationships, family participation, and effective school management are relevant for strengthening the institutional environment. It is concluded that promoting teacher and student well-being requires permanent and coordinated actions integrated into pedagogical practices and school management. A safe, respectful, and organized environment creates better conditions for human development, learning, and the appropriate performance of educational responsibilities.
