Bhote Koshi Flash Flood Impact and Exposure Atlas, Nepal, 26 August 2026
Description
Impact and exposure atlas for the flash flood that swept the Bhote Koshi / Trishuli corridor of Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts, Nepal, on 26 August 2026. An ice and rock avalanche in the Lhende Khola generated a seismic signal the USGS catalogued as event us7000tbwb and classified as event-type "landslide" (Ms 5.2, 0 km depth), releasing a debris flood that entered Nepal at Rasuwagadhi and ran 62.4 km to Devighat. The dataset pairs a 16-record source-cited damage register - each record georeferenced independently of the damage claim and carrying a location-confidence flag and evidence URL - with a Copernicus GLO-30 height-above-channel inundation envelope at 10, 20, 40 and 80 m, WorldPop population exposure by band, district and municipality, and the exposed settlements, road length, main-stem bridge crossings and hydropower assets in the flood path. 39.4 km2 of valley floor lies within 80 m of the river, holding at least 17,167 residents.
