FUTURE OF CODING: AI-ASSISTED DEVELOPMENT AND BEYOND

Authors/Creators

Description

The evolution of programming is entering a transformative phase driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI). The National Conference on “Future of Coding: AI-Assisted Development and Beyond” seeks to explore how AI is reshaping the art and science of software creation. The integration of intelligent systems into development environments has significantly altered the way programmers conceptualize, design, test, and deploy software solutions. From AI-powered code completion tools and automated testing frameworks to predictive debugging systems and low-code/no-code platforms, traditional boundaries of coding are being redefined.
AI-assisted development not only accelerates software production but also enhances accuracy, reduces repetitive tasks, and supports decision-making processes during development. However, alongside these benefits, concerns related to over-dependence, ethical considerations, intellectual property rights, and workforce transformation are emerging. The evolving role of developers now demands a shift from routine coding to higher-order problem solving, system design, and critical evaluation of AI-generated outputs.
This conference aims to bring together educators, researchers, industry practitioners, and policymakers to share ideas, innovations, and practical insights on human–AI collaboration in programming. It also addresses the ethical and professional challenges arising from machine-generated code, data privacy issues, and algorithmic transparency. Discussions focus on balancing automation with creativity, ensuring trust in AI systems, and preparing future generations for intelligent development ecosystems.
By fostering dialogue and collaboration, the conference envisions a future where AI becomes a trusted partner in innovation—enhancing human capability, improving software quality, reducing development cycles, and accelerating technological progress across industries. The Indian IT sector, being one of the largest global contributors to software services, stands at a critical juncture where responsible adoption of AI-assisted development can determine its global competitiveness and sustainability.
