Data on gendering methods

This dataset consists of a table with excerpts from articles describing how they gender researchers for data collections.

Key to columns (empty entry in the table means no data were found):

id: openalex internal id for article.

doi: the doi of the article.

excerpts: text excerpts from articles in bibliometrics/scientometrics that use gendering methods to create data. No information, no DOI and no access is noted here.

ethics: if 1, the article discusses ethical issues about gendering.

gender or sex: notation of which word/s is/are used.

verbs used: notation of verbs used to describe the method.

binary: the article explicitly states the use of binary classification.

gendering_method_not_stated: the article does not describe the method/s used.

gendering_method_not_stated_clearly: the article is unclear about the method/s used.

publication_year: year the article is published according to openalex.

language_openalex: language according to openalex.

type_openalex: type of article according to openalex.

type_crossref: type of article according to crossref (according to openalex).

is_retracted: true/false, whether the article is retracted or not, according to openalex.

is_paratext: true/false, whether the text is paratext according to openalex.

title: title of the article.

corrected_language: article checked for correct language.
