Matter–Field–Information: Matter as Stabilised Fractal Information under Coherence Regulation
Description
This paper develops Matter–Field–Information (MFI) as the third layer of the Architecture of Reality research programme. Building on the coherence-regulation framework introduced in the preceding papers, it proposes an architectural reinterpretation of matter, fields, information, thermodynamics, and objectivity in terms of coherence, accessibility, resolution, and bounded regulation.
The central claim is that matter need not be treated as a primitive substance. It may instead be interpreted as stabilised fractal information: a regime in which scale-consistent informational structure remains repeatedly accessible under coherence regulation. Fields are treated as distributed structures of coherence accessibility, while information is understood not as stored data or symbolic representation alone, but as regulatory structure constraining which configurations can become stable, repeatable, and materially persistent.
Within this framework, material states are reinterpreted as coherence regimes, phase transitions as boundary crossings in coherence–resolution space, and thermodynamic irreversibility as a loss of accessible resolution. Entropy is therefore reframed as the effective volume of coherence-compatible configurations accessible at a given resolution, while the second law is recovered as a limiting case in which resolution loss dominates and coherence regulation is absent, weak, or ineffective.
The paper further argues that objectivity and mathematics remain valid but localised: objectivity becomes conditional invariance within shared coherence regimes, and mathematics functions as a formal language of structural invariants that survive coherence filtering and resolution change. Finally, co-evolution and cross-scale stabilisation are introduced as the bridge from physical regulation toward the preconditions of living organisation.
The paper preserves established physical formalisms within their operational domains while proposing a formal-conceptual architecture linking matter, field, information, coherence, thermodynamic accessibility, and cross-scale stability.
