🇬🇧 THE LAST FLIGHT OF THE MACAW

is a work of literary fiction that explores memory, belonging, departure, return, and what remains from one generation to the next.

The story follows the life of a macaw from its first flights into the sky to old age, while also tracing the different paths taken by its children and the generations that follow. What begins with the discovery of the sky gradually becomes a journey into freedom, family, the need to leave, and the possibility of returning without becoming the person who once departed.

Through the forest, the trees, the river, and flight, the novel explores questions concerning the relationship between origin and destiny, the making of a home, identity, family memory, the transmission of experience, and the freedom to choose one's own path.

Nature and flight are used as symbolic elements to reflect on a deeply human experience: how those we love can move away from us while still carrying with them something of what they received. The tree represents origin and memory; flight represents transformation and freedom; and return becomes the possibility of recognising a place without needing to live there again.

Across several generations, THE LAST FLIGHT OF THE MACAW reflects on what we inherit, what we transform, and what we leave behind. Not every flight leads to the same place, but every journey can carry something of the place where it began.

THE LAST FLIGHT OF THE MACAW will appeal to readers interested in contemporary and Latin American literature, symbolic fiction, literary fables, nature, memory, family, identity, generations, freedom, loss, return, and reflective and philosophical fiction.
