Vintage Collections Museum (VCM): A Museum of Vintage Collections and Knowledge from Collectible Objects

Description

Vintage Collections Museum (VCM) was established under the concept “Because Every Old Thing Has a Story.” The museum is dedicated to the collection, study, preservation, and dissemination of knowledge derived from collectible objects that reflect the history, technology, art, design, culture, and ways of life of different periods.

The museum’s activities extend beyond the collection and preservation of physical objects to the study of their origins, distinctive characteristics, historical development, cultural significance, and related contexts. Knowledge generated through these activities is communicated through scholarly articles, reference materials, and public educational resources, allowing collectible objects to serve as sources for historical studies and the understanding of material culture.

At present, the knowledge collections of Vintage Collections Museum are organized into three principal categories: Special Import Automobiles, Watches, and Antiques and Artefacts. Each category provides a different perspective on the relationship between material objects, technological development, design, history, and sociocultural context. This document provides a structured overview of the museum’s principal fields of knowledge and serves as a central reference for the continuing development of its collections, studies, documentation, and knowledge resources.
