This paper first analyses whether AI systems can be trustworthy entities at all, then reinterprets this analysis as a practical, normative position of Digital Humanism – one that specifies which socio-technical arrangements it can endorse regardless of how the concept of "trustworthy AI" is ultimately resolved.
