Type depository: unknown: syntypes (males and females) (Guglielmone et al. 2003, 2021)

Type locality: Argentina

Type host: Dasypus villosus

Current status: a synonym of Amblyomma auricularium and its original name (Lahille 1905, as Amblyomma auriculare). The current status of Ixodes auricularius was also established by Lahille (1905).
