Description

This dataset contains information about the strength graded timber species in Spain using MiCROTEC S.p.A.  grading machines which were approved by CEN/TC124/WG2/TG1*.

It contains information about:

  • Year
  • Grading machine
  • Timber species
  • Source (origin of timber)
  • Tickness (mm) and width (mm) of the structural timber elements to which the machine grading applies
  • Testing type: bending (B) or tensile (T)
  • Reference to the technical report approved by CEN/TC124/WG2/TG1 (TG/year-month/number)
  • Reference to the specific table for the strength graded timber species of the Approved Grading Report (AGR)
  • Strength classes type: C, D, T, ET
  • Identification of the strength classes assigned
  • Full reference to the technical report approved, when available

It does not contain sensitive information such as the strength classes combinations and their yield or the settings to be implemented in the grading machines. The technical reports and authors, as well as the tables of the AGRs are cited, but the full douments remain confidential for CEN/TC124/WG2/TG1.

This version 2 of the dataset was elaborated thanks to the collaboration between Microtec S.p.A., who provided the information for the strength graded timber using their grading machines, and InnovaWood, who collected, structured and published the dataset in the framework of the research projects EUFORE (101081788) and Woodstock (101181021).
