Description

This policy brief presents practical lessons from South Africa and Flanders on how regional and national authorities can turn invasive alien species data into more reliable evidence for decision-making. It highlights the importance of authoritative species lists, FAIR and regularly updated data, repeatable analytical workflows, explicit treatment of data gaps and uncertainty, and integration with existing biodiversity information systems. The brief concludes with a seven-step programme for building sustainable, decision-focused invasive alien species information systems.
