  • 1. Management Department, BINUS Business School Master Program, Bina Nusantara University, Jakarta, Indonesia

Description

As Artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly embedded in workplace activities, employees’ innovation behaviour depends not only on technological capabilities but also on the psychological conditions that support motivation. This study examines how Humble Leadership and Psychological Safety relate to Innovative Work Behavior through Intrinsic Motivation, while also assessing the role of Human-AI Collaboration Capability. Data were collected from 210 Indonesian employees who regularly used AI-supported applications at work and analyzed using PLS-SEM with bootstrapping. The findings show that both Humble Leadership and Psychological Safety positively influence Intrinsic Motivation, with Psychological Safety demonstrating the stronger effect. Intrinsic Motivation subsequently contributes to Innovative Work Behavior and fully transmits the effects of both antecedents. Human-AI Collaboration Capability also has a significant direct association with Innovative Work Behavior; however, its interaction with Intrinsic Motivation is not significant. The findings highlight complementary motivational and technological pathways to employee innovation in AI-enabled workplaces.
