THE SIGNIFICANCE OF CYP2E1 GENE POLYMORPHISM IN LIVER CIRRHOSIS OF DIFFERENT ETIOLOGIES

Authors/Creators

Description

In recent years, research findings have increasingly emphasized that, alongside etiological factors, the genetic characteristics of patients also play an important role in the development and progression of liver cirrhosis. It is well known that in alcohol-related liver cirrhosis, the activity of enzymes involved in ethanol metabolism, the level of oxidative stress, and mitochondrial damage to hepatocytes are among the important pathogenetic factors determining the clinical course of the disease.
