C-Turkey v1.0.0 — First Official Major Release

Pleased to announce the first official major release (v1.0.0) of the C-Turkey dataset, a comprehensive, standardized, and open-access chronometric repository for Türkiye (spanning from the post-LGM to the Late Ottoman period).

This version incorporates all structural updates, site context corrections, new regional additions, and referee recommendations resulting from the peer-review process at the Journal of Open Archaeology Data (JOAD).

• Data Curation & Corrections:

  • Geolocation Fixes: Removed misassigned entries inherited from legacy global databases to ensure spatial accuracy.
  • New Regional Additions: Integrated newly published uncalibrated radiocarbon dates and metadata from regional excavations.
  • Deduplication & Quality Control: Standardized laboratory codes, updated $n$-counts, and refined taxonomy for bioarchaeological samples.

• Expanded Bibliographic Integration:

  • Added structured primary reference files (references.tsv) linking new database entities directly to their original publications.

• cturkey_v1_raw.tsv: The primary raw compilation harvested from international repositories and regional grey literature.
• cturkey_v1.tsv: The fully cleaned, verified, and standardized primary dataset (containing over 3,390 records with full taxonomic, spatial, and aDNA integration metadata).
• references.tsv: Comprehensive primary citation list.

📂 scripts/

• data_collection.R: Complete R pipeline for data harvesting, quality filtering ($\sigma \le 150$), and deduplication.
• figures.R: R script generating publication-ready spatial distribution maps and Summed Probability Distributions (SPD) with IntCal20 calibration.
