Description
This training package provides a practical resource for learning and teaching QField with QGIS for mobile GIS field data collection, mapping, editing, and geospatial data management.
The package includes a QField User Manual together with ready-made QGIS and QField projects and example spatial datasets for practical training exercises. The training follows an integrated QGIS–QField workflow covering project preparation, field data collection, data transfer, quality control, and post-fieldwork processing.
The practical datasets include Forest_data, PSP_ForestWGCF, and TreeData. These examples are used to demonstrate forest boundary mapping, permanent sample plot data collection, tree-level point data collection, attribute-form configuration, GPS-based data collection, polygon editing, measurements, photographs/attachments, and transfer of field data back to QGIS.
The resource is intended for GIS trainers, university instructors, students, researchers, forestry and natural-resource professionals, and field survey teams. It is particularly suitable for training users who are beginning to implement mobile GIS workflows using open-source QGIS and QField.
The package can be used for both classroom-based practical training and field-based exercises. The QField project is prepared for local/offline use, while QFieldCloud is introduced in the manual as an optional synchronization and collaboration approach.
