D4.6 AI-assisted platform modules and users' manuals

Description

This deliverable, D4.6, is the sixth produced under Work Package 4 (WP4) of the D4RUNOFF project, which aims to develop an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Assisted Platform serving as a Decision Support System (DSS) for managing urban runoff and designing effective counteracting measures. WP4 comprises six tasks; the first focuses on designing the platform's user experience for key stakeholders (policy makers, technical operators, the scientific community, and civil society and citizens), while the remaining five tasks are dedicated to the final design and development of platform components or modules. The development of the AI-Assisted Platform has been based on the technical specifications and functional requirements defined in deliverables D4.2 and D4.5. It has been designed to store, manage, and process data, results, and developments generated throughout the D4RUNOFF project, with the objective of producing outputs that support different user profiles in addressing urban runoff challenges from multiple perspectives.
In summary, the AI-Assisted Platform is a dynamic and integrative system that enables a continuous cycle of information reception, integration, modelling, and processing. It supports the development of effective urban runoff and stormwater management plans based on informed decisions. The platform features a data gathering architecture and a core calculation engine, complemented by four decision-making modules: operational and strategic, risk assessment, policy-making, and social engagement. Its implementation, testing, and validation are being carried out at three European Pilot sites: Odense (Denmark), Santander (Spain), and Pontedera (Italy). Deliverable D4.6 provides a comprehensive user manual for the AI-Assisted Platform, outlining the scope of each of its modules and serving as a practical guide for users to navigate and make full use of the platform’s functionalities. The information and explanations presented in this document are intended as a reference for the deployment and practical use of the platform developed within the D4RUNOFF project.
