Responsible Equestrian Tourism in Tropical Conditions: A Field Brief from Eastern Sri Lanka

A practitioner field brief from Eastern Sri Lanka connecting published international guidance with the day-to-day judgement required by a private, appointment-only, low-volume equestrian operation. It presents seven operating principles for horse-first decisions, rider-horse matching, changing weather and terrain, recovery, humane handling, and traceable review. The brief is intended to support discussion among tourism authorities, equestrian operators, educators, travel designers, veterinary and welfare organisations, and researchers.
