Preventing Global Warming by Regulating the Flow of Polar Currents

Abstract:
Halting global warming has become an urgent necessity. Here, we propose a cost-effective and highly efficient geoengineering solution for regulating the global climate: constructing facilities in areas traversed by polar currents to reduce the flow of these currents. By doing so, we can decrease the influx of warm currents into the polar seas, thereby preventing the melting of polar ice and increasing the albedo effect. This approach will also help reduce the release of carbon from permafrost and the seafloor. Moreover, it can leverage the biological carbon pump to sequester atmospheric carbon in permafrost and the seabed.
