AI Citation Study: Two Sites, One Owner, Three Months

A same-owner, same-window comparison of AI citation behavior across two websites: HomeCalc.ca, a brand-new (under 3 months old at window start) Canadian real-estate calculator site, purpose-built around tools that answer specific questions (mortgage affordability, closing costs, land transfer tax, etc.); and HamiTahm.com, an ~18-month-old personal site that later became a consultancy site, with a mix of essays, opinion posts, and commercial pages. Both sites are owned and operated by the same person. Both were measured the same way, over the same three-month window (April 25, 2026 to July 25, 2026), using Bing Webmaster Tools -> AI Performance (Microsoft Copilot and partners) and Google Search Console. One produced growing, broad, repeatable citations (14,600+, across 25+ pages). The other produced a flat line dominated by a single page (7,100+ citations, with roughly 91% landing on one old essay about the 10,000-hour rule that has nothing to do with the business). That contrast, not the raw total, is the actual finding. The package also includes a commercial-reality check: the most-cited page in the study (6,500 AI citations) produced just 24 Google clicks over the same three-month window -- direct evidence that citation volume alone does not equal traffic or commercial value.
