Description

Unrefereed candidate sequel presenting arguments that identify the transverse cubic slice as a specific exotic affine three-sphere, exclude affine five-space for every normalised quadratic-cubic slice, and analyse the characteristic-3 reduction, with exact symbolic and finite-field checks of selected formulae.

Status: unrefereed candidate mathematical manuscript. No peer review, no independent external reproduction, and no external human review of the complete manuscript are documented. Deposit on Zenodo does not upgrade this status; the bundle is offered for scrutiny.

Attribution (repository-reported): the manuscript is attributed to OpenAI Codex / Anthropic models (OpenAI contribution: synthesis of the sequel, proof reconstruction, exact verification code, and publication bundle; Anthropic contribution: a Fable 5 model is repository-reported to have supplied a separate audit of the torsor sections and Čech class, the Dubouloz–Finston hypothesis, the quadratic–cubic class calculation and rank cases, finite-field counts, and the characteristic-3 reduction). Research direction, mediation, maintenance, and publication: Ian Pitchford, CC0 affirmer only to the extent he holds the relevant rights. These labels describe the workflow and do not imply endorsement by OpenAI or Anthropic.

Sequel relationship: pinned to foundation repository ipitchford/degree-difference-affine-slices at commit 38bb6c2054fd1e231233ee9c1bbd8ebf7b666685.

Archive: the exact release archive of tag v0.1-candidate of github.com/ipitchford/exotic-affine-spheres-quadratic-cubic (commit 8d34af0b84bd5468713453eee75486d3744ba94f); SHA-256 recorded in the deposit receipt.
