360-Degree Camera Comparison Dataset: Spatial Video and Audio Recordings from Five Devices (AMBIENT project)
Description
Original recordings and derived audio from a five-device 360-degree camera comparison (GoPro MAX, Insta360 X3, Garmin VIRB 360, Ricoh Theta S, Zoom H3-VR) recorded at RITMO, University of Oslo, on 18 December 2023.
This dataset supports these papers:
- Guo, Riaz & Jensenius (SMC 2024), 'Comparing Four 360-Degree Cameras for Spatial Video Recording and Analysis'
- Riaz, Guo & Jensenius (2025), 'Comparing Spatial Audio Recordings from Commercially Available 360-degree Video Cameras'.
Includes original device files, losslessly extracted per-device audio (action sequence and room ambience), light-intensity clips from the dimmer experiment, setup photographs, and checksums.

Notes
Recorded in the fourMs motion-capture lab. Earlier takes (recordings1/recordings2) available from the authors on request. ORCID iDs to be added by the depositor before publishing.
