Title ImpactAlign SDG Dashboard: Visualizing Research Alignment with Sustainable Development Goals

  • 1. Dynamic Group of Companies
  • 2. Dynamic Research institute

Description

Description The ImpactAlign SDG Dashboard (Figure 1) visualizes the systematic integration of research outputs with SDG targets and indicators. It displays measurable engagement metrics, including 62 projects aligned, 85 scholars engaged, and 23 institutions participating. The dashboard high lights thematic clusters—poverty reduction, quality education, climate action, and partnerships through bar graphs, while a circular chart illustrates 72% overall SDG achievement. Each research document is mapped to relevant SDG targets (e.g., 4.7, 9.5, 13.2, 17.16) and indicators (e.g., 4.7.1, 9.5.1, 13.2.1, 17.16.1), enabling transparent tracking of institutional contributions. The bottom panel displays all 17 SDG icons, reinforcing the project’s holistic scope & ensuring visibility across the sustainability agenda.

Abstract (English)

Abstract

The ImpactAlign SDG Dashboard, developed under the Dynamic Group of Companies and conceptualized by Prof. Dr. Akhlas Ahmed, provides a transformative visualization framework for aligning academic and institutional research outputs with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By integrating theses, dissertations, project proposals, and institutional reports into measurable SDG targets and indicators, the dashboard bridges the gap between research generation and sustainability compliance.

Central to the dashboard are engagement metrics that quantify institutional participation: the number of projects aligned, scholars engaged, and institutions contributing. These metrics highlight the scale of involvement and provide evidencebased insights into research ecosystems. The dashboard also emphasizes focus areas such as poverty reduction, quality education, climate action, and global partnerships, reflecting priority domains of sustainable development.

A circular progress chart illustrates overall SDG achievement, currently at 72%, while the inclusion of all 17 SDG icons reinforces the holistic scope of the initiative. By embedding UNdefined targets and indicators (e.g., 4.7, 9.5, 13.2, 17.16) into the research lifecycle, the dashboard ensures transparency, accountability, and interoperability with openaccess repositories. Ultimately, the ImpactAlign SDG Dashboard demonstrates how structured, datadriven visualization can accelerate national and global progress toward sustainable development, positioning academic institutions as active contributors to the 2030 Agenda.
