A STUDY ON RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION PRACTICES IN THE CEMENT MANUFACTURING SECTOR: A CASE STUDY OF ULTRATECH CEMENT LTD
Authors/Creators
Description
This research article examines the recruitment and selection practices followed at UltraTech Cement Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd., Tadipatri, one of the leading players in India's cement manufacturing sector. The study is based on primary data collected from 50 employees through a structured questionnaire, supported by secondary sources including company records, human resource reports, and academic literature. The primary aim is to assess how effectively the organisation's recruitment and selection systems identify, attract, and place suitable candidates, and how employees perceive the fairness, relevance, and efficiency of these processes. The study further evaluates employee satisfaction with placement outcomes, the interview process, organisational climate, and the time taken to issue offer letters. It concludes with practical suggestions for strengthening recruitment channels, modernising hiring practices, and improving candidate communication, while acknowledging limitations such as the restricted sample size and the single-organisation scope of the research.
