GAME THEORY AND EKVILIBRO: THE OBSERVER IN STRATEGIC CHOICE SITUATIONS

Authors/Creators

Description

Abstract

Imagine you are in a negotiation, haggling over a price, choosing a partner, or simply deciding whether to trust someone. In each such moment, you are playing a game. Classical game theory claims that a rational person always calculates the benefits and chooses the optimal option. But in real life, we often see something different.

What if rationality is not the only path to the optimal outcome?

This article offers a different perspective. The author connects classical game theory with the laws of the mechanics of consciousness (Ekvilibro) (Lvova & Lvov, 2026a) and shows that absolute rationality is only one of the possible modes of consciousness — not the only one.

In this article, you will learn:

  • Why even "correct" cooperation in the Prisoner's Dilemma can be a trap.
  • How the Observer transforms a game from a fight for gain into a search for equilibrium. The Observer is a position that allows one to see the situation as a whole, without merging with either side. Those who can engage the Observer escape the trap of "choosing between two bad options" and find a third way — from a position of stable equilibrium.
  • Why sanctions and arms races are classic examples of the law of action and reaction.
  • How the "Ekvilibro Game" method helps make strategic decisions in business, politics, and personal life.

This text is addressed not only to mathematicians. It is for those who make decisions — in negotiations, management, diplomacy, and everyday choices. And for those who want to understand why sometimes the best move is not a move, but observation from the sidelines.
