Beardless man with a fur cap

This is a carved pear wood bust depicting an unknown beardless man wearing a fur hat and holding a book in his hands. The bust comes from the Fugger Chapel in Augsburg. Jakob Fugger the Rich had it built in the 16th century as a burial place for himself and his family. It is believed that the Fuggers could be represented in the figures themselves
