StarTarot English RWS Historical Meanings and Golden Dawn Correspondences
Authors/Creators
Description
StarTarot English RWS Historical Meanings and Golden Dawn Correspondences provides one structured record for every card of the 78-card Rider–Waite–Smith tarot deck. Each record combines A. E. Waite's historical upright and reversed divinatory wording from Part III of The Pictorial Key to the Tarot (1910/1911) with normalized Golden Dawn titles and elemental, planetary, zodiacal, and decan correspondences first published as Liber LXXVIII in The Equinox (1912).
The dataset is independently assembled from primary historical sources and is not derived from any contemporary tarot dataset. No card images are included.
Files
cards.jsonl— recommended machine-readable form; one nested JSON record per card.cards.csv— flattened UTF-8 table for spreadsheets and analysis.README.md— scope, sources, field guide, methodology, and limitations.LICENSE— licensing and public-domain source notice.checksums.sha256— SHA-256 integrity checks for the files above.
Intended uses
Historical and cultural research, digital humanities, education, cataloguing, information retrieval, and source-aware software that needs structured English tarot reference data. The release is not a benchmark or a labelled prediction task, and it is not evidence that tarot predicts events. It contains no personal data, user content, card artwork, or model outputs.

This Zenodo record is the archival version of record. Hugging Face and Kaggle host byte-identical mirrors for discovery, preview, and analysis; match the version number and SHA-256 checksums when combining copies from different services.
Accuracy boundary
This is a historical and cultural reference dataset, not a scientific model of prediction. Tarot meanings vary by school, period, deck, spread, surrounding cards, and reader. Waite's wording can be archaic or person-specific and should be contextualized. The data must not replace medical, legal, financial, or mental-health advice.
