Description

Heterusia risa risa Doubleday, 1844: 468
TL: Nepal; BMNH.
Distribution: India: N. India; Global: Nepal (Bryk 1936; Endo & Kishida 1999).
Host: Found to feed on Camellia sinensis (Theaceae) in India and Indonesia; Symplocos sp. (Symplocaceae) in India (Robinson et al. 2010) and on Melastoma malabathricum (Melastomataceae) (Leong 2009; Holloway 2011).
Illustrations: Adults ♂ and ♀ (Endo & Kishida 1999: 58, figs. 1–8).
Remarks: Other subspecies: E. risa javanica (Hering, 1922) (TL: Indonesia, Java, Mount Gede), E. risa transitaria (Hering, 1922) (TL: Sumatra), and E. risa palawanica Yen, 2005 (TL: Philippines, Palawan, Brooke’s point).
