Diagnosis. The species is externally close to that of C. accurata (wingspan 25–27 mm) in wing maculation but differs in forewings being shorter and having a rounded wing termen (distinctively obliquely rounded in C. accurata). Besides, the markings are differently arranged especially in the submarginal area characterized by having larger black spots. In the male genitalia, the new species differs significantly in having stout lobes in tegumen and shallow notch between them, valva with cucullus being rather curved (more pronounced on right one), and having a wide saccus.
Description. Male. Wingspan 28–29 mm. Head with the frons clothed in pale brown scales; labial palps brown, the terminal segment paler; antennae brown. Thorax and abdomen grayish in color.
Forewings moderate, apex rounded obtuse, termen rounded; light brownish gray, with scattered dark spots; small distinct dark spots that are heavily visible near base, and some dark mottling inside discal cell at its distal area, the region next to it having an unmarked medial zone; an indistinct dark subterminal line made of a series of quadrate dark spots; cilia grayish brown. Hindwings light greyish brown, lighter and paler towards base.
The male genitalia with the lobes of tegumen stout with a shallow notch between them and ending into blunt apex; appendix lateralis broader, and terminates into shallowly concave ending; transtilla rounded and setose having a few elongated setae; valva slightly asymmetrical, costal margin shallowly curved and concave, saccular margin straight at base with wide saccular pocket that runs straightly until the clasper which is strongly built and elongate, ampulla elongate tongue like, cucullus finely curved inward and digitiform (right one more curved); vinculum broad, saccus wide.
Female. Unknown.
Distribution. India (Odisha).
Etymology. The species is named after the Kushabhadra River, Odisha, India, near which the type locality is situated.
